WELCOME TO CREST RESEARCH GROUP
CREST Research group is a scientific group working to unravel the key reaction pathways and kinetics of catalytic fast pyrolysis, catalytic hydropyrolysis, microwave-assisted pyrolysis, hydrothermal liquefaction and hydrogenolysis.

Key Objectives
The key objectives of our research are
-
To identify and understand the chemical transformations involved in thermochemical and catalytic conversion of a variety of feedstocks such as lignocellulosic biomass, polymers/waste plastics, micro/macro algae, coals, and municipal solid wastes to chemicals, fuel molecules and bioproducts.
-
To unravel the key reaction pathways and kinetics of (catalytic) fast pyrolysis, (catalytic) hydropyrolysis, microwave-assisted pyrolysis, hydrothermal liquefaction and hydrogenolysis.
-
To understand the thermal and electrical ageing of lubricating oils and polymer composites under simulated conditions, and correlating the ageing markers with structural and physicochemical properties of the material
-
Develop novel catalysts and functional materials for environmental decontamination via photocatalysis, sonophotocatalysis and adsorption
